What is The FiberGard® System?
The FiberGard® System is specifically designed for enhanced fiber protection from spots, soiling and staining of fine fabrics, carpets and floor coverings, as well as providing a significant strengthening barrier for fabrics for extended periods of wear and tear. The FiberGard® formulation has been tested and proven to protect fabrics against the damaging effects of ultraviolet light, as well as enhanced flame retardation.

What kinds of spots and stains does The FiberGard® System protect against?
The FiberGard® System protects against various soils, grass, blood, oil, tar, grease, gum, and ink, as well as hundreds of other combinations of staining agents, spots, and spills.
Is The FiberGard® System safe for children and pets?

How does The FiberGard® System work?
The FiberGard® System takes advantage of a new chemistry called Micro-encapsulation that incorporates a combination of polymers, co-polymers, fluorochemicals, resins, and suffactants that work in unison to provide a safe, much longer lasting barrier that protects against oil and water-based staining compounds.
The key to The FiberGard® System is that FiberGard® actually penetrates directly into the treated fiber, as opposed to just coating the surface. This allows FiberGard® to provide an enhanced barrier of protection from potential staining agents. Additionally, this exclusive formula also adds enhanced protection from UV rays and flammability, as well as strengthening the actual fiber, providing longer wear.
Will spills “bead up” on treated items?
“Beading up” depends entirely upon the type of fiber involved and the degree of openness of the weave of the fabric. The tighter the weave, the greater surface resistance. However, even if the spot or spill infiltrates that airspace, it releases much more readily when properly treated and cleaned with The FiberGard® System.
Does FiberGard® have an odor?
Once the product has completely dried within a period of 4-6 hours, FiberGard® is completely odorless, colorless, and non-toxic. Increased airflow will accelerate dry-time and help dissipate the “clean” smell immediately following application.
Will The FiberGard® System prevent soiling and spots?
FiberGard® will not make soil, spotting, or spills hover 6 inches above the surface! It will, however, allow the various staining agents to be released much more effectively than untreated or mill-treated fibers. Nothing will protect against the effects of bleaches, strong acids, or dyes. Therefore it is very important to be extremely careful with use of these potential staining agents.
Does The FiberGard® System “waterproof” fabrics and floor coverings?
The FiberGard® System is not intended for use as a waterproofing agent. However, it will substantially improve resistance to water-based substances.
Should I apply FiberGard® to mill-treated fabrics?
Absolutely! There is no comparison! The FiberGard® System will dramatically enhance and improve the effectiveness of these previously treated items. Along with this, The FiberGard® System is designed to offer a complete system of on-going maintenance with an unparalleled level of service. Clients will have the added benefit of having a local FiberGard® professional treat their furnishings at their respective locations with a minimal amount of disruption to their lives.
Additionally, at the time of your initial estimate, we will demonstrate how The FiberGard® System works, how to effectively remove spots and spills and give you the appropriate cleaning agent with regard to your particular situation (Our specifically formulated cleaning solutions DO NOT remove the initial protective treatments).
